Recently, the China Rubber Industry Association’s tire branch held a general assembly in Tianjin. Wang Feng, chairman of Aeolus Tire, hosted the meeting. Participants discussed popular existing problems in the industry, including green tire production and tire testing site construction. They also exchanged notes on setting up funds for a natural rubber market and resolving overcapacity.

Wang Feng delivered a speech about promoting industrial transformation and upgrading and making China a tire superpower. He analyzed current challenges in economic development and gave an introduction of countermeasure policies advocated by the government. He believes that it’s vital for companies to focus on resource conservation, environment protection, quality and benefits. Firms should also integrate industrialization and informatization. He said the major constraints in the tire industry are quality and brand due to weak technical innovation and internationalization. Wang suggested the government offer policy support, such as issuing incentive regulations, raising entry thresholds, and enforcing laws to speed up industrial upgrade. He also encouraged Eucommia ulmoides rubber cultivation and application. He also promoted the acceleration of transformation in company operation and profit models, such as improving mechanization, automation, “intelligentization” and foreign trade quality.

More than 200 representatives attended the meeting, including experts from the China Rubber Industry Association and rubber company personnel. The meeting also reviewed the current membership situation, as well as the tire branch’s budget and final account.
